Philips Design, HTCE
Philips Design looked for a discernable place at the High Tech Campus Eindhoven where it could carry out its work activities in its own specific manner. They found this place in a building that was actually earmarked for demolition and was already disconnected from the technical infrastructure.
The industrial character of the premises fitted perfectly with the creative atmosphere that Design looked for. Under the motto ‘what you see is what you get’, the building was transformed into a dynamic work environment. Authentic and style-setting elements such as the steel construction, the inner walls of glazed brickwork and the massive mahogany parquet floors were preserved. The new additions are recognisable as newly built elements.
