Padualaan 99-101, the HU University of Applied Sciences Utrecht
Two 1990s school buildings at the HU University of Applied Sciences Utrecht have been renovated and re-designed into an inviting and inspiring educational environment. The creative technology world in building 99 and the social studies programme in building 101. Refreshing and natural, sparkling and light. The main path on the first floor connects all the building parts, resulting in a comprehensive knowledge organisation. Informal individual study corners adjacent to this main path invite people to meet and converse.
The renovation design of both buildings is totally based on a life-cycle concept. The facilities and the building management system, as well as the objectification, were not designed for the moment of delivery, but rather for optimal use, management and maintenance in the many years to come.
