Catalyst, Eindhoven
Catalyst is the newest incubator facility, the place for young entrepreneurs at the campus of the Eindhoven University of Technology. Catalyst is literally what it means; a place where the dynamics and interactions play a major role in its interior. Large sky lights and staggering voids create a light, spacious and attractive interior that invites meetings and consultations. The atrium functions as a traffic zone with the informal meeting places linked directly to it. The surrounding floor spaces are flexibly divided into offices and labs.
The abstract depiction of the squarely-built façade and the elegance of the continuous plinth course with which the building stands on the surface link it with the cultural history of the buildings at the TU/e campus.
