July 2019 - Learning & Development

What are your hashtags for next year?

At Inbo, the quality of work takes top priority. This is why investing in our capital – people – is a must. It is very important to us that our employees leave for work with a skip in their step every day, that they develop and feel safe. By appointing Mirjam Hoveijn as our learning & development manager, we take a giant leap forward in that regard.

In her previous position as programme manager at the BNA Academie, Mirjam was already working on the theme of “the learning organisation”. ‘Bit by bit, the ambition to establish an L&D programme within an architectural firm flowered within me. To me, it was nothing less than logical to do this at Inbo, as here, people really come first. I feel right at home within these walls’, Mirjam says.

One of her first goals is to set up four content development lines within the InboAcademy – climate and sustainability, design thinking, shaping the dialogue, visualizing concepts, creative engineering and leadership. The idea is for the academy to become accessible to outsiders as well. Mirjam: ‘This will allow us to show what we can offer. I see the academy as a flywheel for the entire agency.’

An important pillar of Mirjam’s new position is to keep people on edge regarding their own development. She regularly asks people about their focus and ambitions. Or by posing the question: ‘What are your hashtags for next year?’ ‘Last year, my own were #thelearningorganisation #peopleoriented #talentmanagement. This next step as L&D manager ties in perfectly. That’s why they will remain my hashtags for the next year as well.’
