Rien van Egdom appointed as associate

Rien van Egdom (38) has been a valuable colleague in the Inbo Engineering team for the past 16 years. He is unequalled in his ability to successfully conclude large and complex projects. The combination of great architectural skill and sincere interest in the people around him allow Rien to oversee and control processes.

This overview and stillness give Rien confidence, both within and on the outside. Clients appreciate his skills and organisational qualities. Projects are not products of individual advisors but are given an integral approach. Rien takes responsibility for his work, coordinates and offers guidance, which makes his projects a success and takes away his clients’ worries.

Holland Park in Diemen is a perfect example. For this project, Inbo combined the designs of various architects into a single plan. With attention for the interests of each party involved, Rien led the engineering of a large number of building blocks. BIM is an important tool in this process: under his lead, the building blocks for Diemen were assembled from a “digital quarry”. In addition to the Diemen projects, Rien currently also has in his care the new ING headquarters in Amsterdam, a design by Benthem Crouwel, and the towers on the Grotiusplaats in The Hague, designed by MVRDV.

As an associate, Rien will continue to focus on his independent, coordinating role in large and complex assignments. Internally, he will focus on the continuous improvement of our knowledge, quality and expertise, and he will train young talent through his projects. As such, Rien will keep making highly valuable contributions to many aspects of our strength to engineer the most challenging projects that appear in the Netherlands.
