Selection won for Sneek town hall

The municipality of Súdwest-Fryslân will house all municipal services at the Marktstraat in Sneek. The services are given their place in an existing bank building and in the monumental buildings of the municipality, each with its own specific atmosphere and rich history. Contractor Bouwgroep Dijkstra Draisma won the Design & Build selection with a multidisciplinary design team: Inbo for the architecture and the interior, J.O.N.G architects for restoration and history and Erik Overdiep for the landscape design.

The composition of buildings requires a responsible and respectful integration in the city, a clear spatial organization and a pleasant working environment. The exterior and interior of the various buildings are being cleaned up and renewed with one big source of inspiration: the rich history. We are creating a new public route with monumental qualities and a pleasant quality of stay. The square, the garden and the monuments each have their own appearance. The workplace environment will become a 'smart' office. This diversity in architecture and interior refers to the different identities that occur in this large municipality.

The result is a town hall that stands, that facilitates maximally and that really welcomes visitors and employees.
