Dec 2016 - Stimulating educational buildings
Stimulating educational buildings
At the end of the year we like to inform you about the many larger and smaller educational buildings that we have been working on over the past year. The turnover of architectural and construction companies has grown the past year because of the massive growth of the housing market. You might think that also for Inbo housing is the biggest part of our design work. The opposite is true: the ratio between residential and commercial buildings in our portfolio is almost identical to previous years.
We are very proud that we have been able to clearly design the large buildings, that we made in particular for higher education, without losing the human scale. These buildings are designed to meet and especially to inspire.
The fact that clients ask us to come back is the evidence we succeed in our work. For Leiden University we started with the second phase of the Faculty of Mathematics and Physics, at the Utrecht University of Applied Sciences we get subsequent contracts for the renovation and redecoration of the faculties of Science & Technology and Law, People & Organization. And in Nijmegen before we even completed the renovation of the new building of Dentistry and we already started the design of the Faculty of Social Sciences. A contract by the way which we earned by winning a European tender, mostly because of the building’s human and small scale character.
With kind regards,
Bert van Breugel and Tako Postma
