Completion National Aerospace Laboratory

On Monday, the 18th of May, the newly built National Aerospace Laboratory (Nationaal Lucht- en Ruimtevaartlaboratorium / NLR) in Amsterdam was completed. The transformation of the NLR grounds into a modern and dynamic working environment, for high-quality research in aviation and astronautics, continues in the renovation of existing buildings.

Recently contractor Lokhorst started renovation of the former wind tunnel-building, which will become the heart of the complex. With special facilities this building will be the catalyst for ‘Het Nieuwe Werken’ and the central meeting ‘place to be’ for employees and visitors of NLR.

The total plan is a joint design by Inbo and Wessel de Jonge Architecten and has been elaborated into an integral 3D model in cooperation with Pieters Bouwtechniek, Valstar Simonis and RHDHV. At the same time the team works on the new construction of NLR in Marknesse, which is now a tender.
