Dental Science wins Gulden Feniks

Crowned to best renovation project 2017

06-07-2017

On the 5th of July, the jury of NRP Gulden Feniks announced the winners of NRP Gulden Feniks 2017. The renovation of the Dental Science building of the Radboud University Nijmegen was crowned as the best renovation project.

From the jury report: "What Inbo has done in renovating the Dentistry building is extremely clever. The renovation shows real craftsmanship. The brutalistic concrete architecture of the original building has been given a new quality. Client and architect have both shown courage by deviating from the question and being open and constructive. This has led to visible added value in the final result. Like the beautiful lobby: light, spacious and beautifully connected to the existing high-rise of the building. The renovation of the faculty is a perfect example of good entrepreneurship and typical architectural craftsmanship. "

"The building is functional, bright and well-kept. Visitors come here under treatment from Dentistry students, then an environment must feel safe. Inbo has understood that well and translated that into the material selection, colouring and signage. It's nowhere in the building about chic, but about quality and trust."

"With the renovation of Dentistry in Nijmegen, extra quality has been added to the city and the place instead of that only just something has been maintained."

NRP annually hands out the NRP Gulden Feniks to the best and most innovative renovation and (area) transformation projects in the Netherlands. The Dentistry building is a project of Inbo, DeernsCroes, Facilicom and Ex Interiors.
