Circular economy

A new interpretation of the material world

We live in a material world, where the innovation of materials and products symbolizes the future improvement. We develop our resources into materials and products which eventually shape this world. We literally ‘feed’ our buildings with fossil energy.

Improvement does not bring us more. The earth is warming up, the arctic is melting, our climate is changing and our resources are running low. This should be different, this can be different. By using the energy which is already around us: sun, wind and water energy. Closing the cycles and (re-) using materials in a clever and durable way.

We will elevate circular designing and building to an higher level. We literally reach further than just the re-use of construction elements or furniture. We dive into the total production process and seek with the help of others for a understandable new reality, in which smart sustainable solutions and aesthetics go hand in hand.

We substantiate the energy consumption together

Our cars stand still 90% of the time. But we still don’t want to get rid of them. We prioritize the comfort of the use. This is the same in our energy-use. We all share the same day/night rhythm. We make our coffee at the same time and ask for warm water at the same time.  We prioritize the comfort of our energy consumption, whenever we want.

The greatest challenge therefor is to eliminate the imbalance of energy consumption, supply and demand between day and night, summer and winter. If we can even out the level of peaks in energy consumption, half our coal plants can close. If we can store our energy sufficiently, we can organize more decentralized and we could decrease the use of heavy grids.

Zero-on-the-meter is a good beginning, but does not solve the imbalance. Why realize ALMOST energy neutral buildings, if we could realize them entirely renewed and fossil free? Together with our partners/relations we seek for better solutions. Solutions that provide the comfort our users are used to and more.
