In 2008, the Inbo Amsterdam team drew up the urban design plan for ‘t Duyfrak in Valkenburg. The objective: to ensure that Valkenburg’s village identity would be preserved. We aimed for a sustainable development planning. Thanks to the abundant water in the vicinity, our plan for sustainability was clearly feasible. Early evaluation flagged up that the locality scores well when considering water areas, the green environment, water management and road safety.
