Inbo has researched the so called ‘functional mix’ together with the Rotterdam Development Company (OBR) and the Amsterdam Spatial Planning Department (DRO). This investigation focused on the defining and indexing of a functional mix, any possible relationships existing between the functional mix and the nature of urban areas and any possible relationships existing between the functional mix and notions such as sustainability, security and value development. The research was partly funded by InboLab.
